World’s largest democracy sounds super cool huh, the
country with rank 2 when it comes to population but, still a very big task to
administer such a huge count of people coming from different states, religion,
culture, casts etc. India apart from domestic politics has a say in many
international decisions, India being a part of UNESCO, WHO and other many
international organizations which are the guardian of peace force in this
world.
It is interesting to note that India is the Nation
where the Prime Minister is a Sikh, Governing party Chief is an Italian,
President is East Indian, and Opposition leader is a Hindu.
Political
Structure
A comparison always teaches the best so let us
compare with America. Lets speak America first, The government structure is
president run democracy under which the steel man governs and takes most of the
decisions, though there are political parties which run the legislation and
other weird stuff but when it comes to boom bam bombing President has the final
call. India on the other hand is known for it’s diplomatic behavior and global
peacefulness (Big words but truth).
Decision related to India is passed through several
levels to maintain the democracy intact, If a law has to be passed throughout
the country, the Law in the form of a bill is being discussed initially in a
meeting with political leaders of states (The place is known as Loksabha), then
the same is discussed in higher level (Rajya Sabha), after the process is done
and the bill is agreed it is passed to President for final approval and after
the sign of president the Bill becomes a Law (Not much of a difference
however).
The
Main difference comes in the culture
Indian culture is far diversified compared to any
other nation and hence the voting process is also very different and a real
high level of administration is arranged when election occurs. And same is the
reason that along with main stream parties there are many parties specifically
dedicated to the culture they want to secure.
Parties
and process
Most famous parties are Congress and BJP (Bhartiya
Janta party); congress however has ruled the nation for more than 60 years.
There is a new party appearing from non political structure as well, know as
AAP (Aam Admi Party) and is gaining popularity as they opened a door to general
public to compete in elections and record many people have joined this party.
Top
Leaders
India has produced many prominent personalities and
the people running the nation do not require much of introduction still below
are top leaders as of today:
Pranab
Mujherjee (President), Dr. Manmohan Singh (PM), Mohammad Hamid Ansari (Vice
President), Salman Khurshid and many other famous personalities.
These
all factors definitely make Indian politics an off course India a world leader
and a Super Power in beginning.
