The Possession… A Gruesome One To Share

It is really hard for the older generation to take the very fact that nowadays people in relations usually live together even though they have not tied their knot or taken the vows as the present generation is practical in every possible manner. Mila and Deepak were one of the couple of this very generation. They were fun loving, careless, daring and experimental but they do not know that everything is not as easy as it seems like and somewhere or the other, we have to be careful about the things which we do not know.

Mila and Deepak usually go out for dinner and explore new restaurants. Both of them were foodie. One day they were driving back from their usual exploring, Mila was feeling a little anxious because it was almost 3am and the highway was empty and it was spooking her out. She was insisting Deepak to drive fast so that they could reach home as soon as possible. Deepak was requesting her not to freak out and let him drive peacefully but she was nagging over and over and it started a hot argument. They started to argue and Deepak was forgetting that he was increasing his speed because of the frustration. Both of them were so intense that they forgot that they were on the road and then a ‘bump’ sound came and a person just flew over their car. Everything came to a standstill.

Deepak was stoned for a second but he came to his senses and he was just opening his door when Mila stopped him and tell him to take her home. Deepak insisted that they should take the person to the hospital but she began to wail and he has to ignore the person who was lying in the pool of blood and drove ahead for his destination.

The very next day they got the details from the media that a lady was crushed by a vehicle and died at the spot and no one has came out to claim the body. Both of them were not able to look on their own eyes. They began to live aloof. The news began to fade away and so thus their anxiety. They began to live their normal schedule. Some friends decided to meet up so they decided to attend the get together, the only problem was, Jay (friend) has taken a new room and it was near the same highway where the accident took place. They tried to postpone it but they have to give up and they were getting ready for the get together and even they started to think that an incident cannot just take away their life because everybody make mistakes.

They both agreed that they would not talk about it on the way and will try to return as early as possible. They tried to remain silent the whole journey but when they reached their friend’s room they began to cheer up and blended with the environment. As the night proceeds, they decided to stay the night. Everything was going smoothly and both of them smiled freely after a long time, both of them looked at each other and they knew that from today everything will be fine as time is the only component which dares to heel everything. One by one their friend began to part their ways, they had their dinner and after everyone left their friend told them that he is going for a stroll to get some cigarette and offer them some privacy.

Deepak went for a shower and Mila was entertaining herself with the latest music playing on the MTV Channel. Deepak took just ten to fifteen minutes and came out. He called out for Mila but she was not replying, he came to the main hall and he could not find her there too but suddenly he heard some strange noise from the bedroom. He hurried towards the bedroom and there he saw Mila banging her head on the wall and muttering something which was out of his catch. At first he did not understand what to do, her action was freaking him out. He was standing like a helpless kid and then suddenly the door bell rang. He ran towards the door like a marathon runner and flung the door, Jay was standing in front of him but he saw him as a protector and hugged him like an old friend.

Without spending any more moment they rushed to Mila and she was still in the same position but blood started to flow out from her forehead. Jay was calm and told Deepak to hold her tightly so that she would not hit her head. Jay got some water and pour on her head but she was still going two-and-fro and muttering. Deepak pleaded to take her to the hospital but Jay was thinking of something else. He told Deepak to start the car and he will come down with Mila and they will go to the nearest temple. Deepak was confused and pleaded again to take her to the hospital but Jay told him in a stern voice that doctors will make it worse and taking her to the temple is the best option now and that too without losing any more second.

It was tough to take her down the stairs as she was still moving to-and-fro. But by hook and crook they took her to the car and drove as fast as possible to the nearest temple. As they were taking her to the temple she began to cry and wail and started to hit them but they dragged her and as soon as she touched the floor of the temple she fainted. They lifted her and took her inside the temple. They sprinkled some holy water on her. After few minutes, she regains her consciousness. She was weak and all in blood. She did not remember anything except that she was watching TV and then she heard something from the bedroom and there she saw someone sitting on the bed. She thought the person might be one of her friend so she went towards her and when she touched her shoulder to inquire, the head turned towards her but not the body and then she did not remember anything after that.

Jay told them that the owner of the house was a lady and she died in an accident in the highway few months back, he got the room from their relatives. He only took the room because the relatives of the lady were in urgent need of money for the funeral and all so he took the room even though he knew that it was a risk. Deepak and Mila took a deep breath and told Jay about the accident. Jay was surprised to hear all this but he was calm and told them that it might be possible that the spirit of the lady has not left the house yet and she is trying to hurt Mila. They sat there for few more hours and they decided to leave for home.

But as soon as Mila took her feet out of the temple premise, she began to start muttering and began to hit her head on the ground. Deepak and Jay took hold of her body and dragged her like an old bag into the temple. She fainted again. Both of them were in terror. Now they were clueless and helpless. They decided to spend the night in the temple. Mila regained herself but she was more terrified then others. Jay suggested waiting for Pujari ji (priest).

It was almost 6am and then enters Pujari ji. They told him that some spirit is on her and she cannot leave the temple premise. Pujari ji agreed to conduct some ceremony for the peace and tell them to ask forgiveness for their mistakes, whatever it is, during the process Mila asked for her forgiveness and requested the spirit to leave the human world. When the ceremony was over, the wound mysteriously faded away from her forehead and not a single scratch was left from the incident. They thanked the Pujari ji and thanked God and the spirit for accepting their forgiveness.

Somewhere we all know that there are still some things which are not at all explainable and on which we humans have not any control on them because somewhere or the other there are things which are just cannot be blended with the new generation and we have to know that being practical does not mean that we should not respect the lives of others because we cannot just go against the Supreme and disrespect His most wonderful creation, human beings. While driving back to home, both of them felt like something heavy has been shifted from their head and the sunrays seems like washing away all their worries. Somehow they both know that they have paid for their mistakes and now they are heading ahead for a new journey without any darkness…
