Population In India: Wonder Or Blunder (Part 1)

Fellas !! Ever heard the story of a lumberjack and family, how he have 4 kids and he assigns work to cut down trees, well the point was however to give a message about Unity in Diversity in this story but my point is 4 kids (That’s a lot to handle, practically). Then I remember one of Ex Chief Minister from India, is holding up a whole sport team of 11 members (Including him and his wife). The lumberjack becomes reasonable now; I hope you already figured the point of the above weird story.

I am pointing at the country with world’s second largest population i.e. India; In my previous blog I mentioned how it is a tuff task for government to administer such a big crowd and so are the gatherings.

Some Facts
·         Current Population                   : 1,240,640,000 (2014)
·         Sex Ratio                                  : 940 females per 1000 males
·         Growth Rate                             : 1.6 %
·         Children per mother                 : 2.6
·         Life Expectancy                        : Men- 64.4 Yrs            Women- 67.6 Yr
·         Age Groups                               : Atleast 40% population falls between 20 – 30
·         Population Density                   : 377 people per sq km

Wonders

India is diversified country with a total area of 32,87,263 sq.km with two states contributing to about 25 % of nation’s total population (Uttar Pradesh -16 % and Maharashtra – 10%). However it is important to know that the country with second largest population has least number of prisoners (boiled my Mind).

As per a study (tailored in many newspapers) Indian population if managed properly would help India become a developed country with lots of countries investing In ; Reason given is the age group .As already mentioned above that more than 40% of the population is coming under the ambit of a working young age and India already tops the world of Engineering and Mathematics (George Bush once said in a high school “Study or Indian would take your jobs” (Not sure if these are the exact words but means the same).

India has been invaded over the years by many countries including British, Mughals, Iranians etc leaving behind cultural changes and archeological wonders. India is home to almost every possible religion in this world.

It caters around 82% of the Hindu population and yet is home to more than 120 millions of Muslims (One of the largest religion by group in a country by Count.
Also another thing that amuses me is the magnitude of the Indian population increase is around the total population of Australia.

But as we know with great powers comes great electricity Bill, we will discuss the problem the country faces because of its population in our upcoming blog. Stay Tuned…
