Dr Manmohan singh, "The Reformer Once, Not Just A Puppet"

Well it happens in life and most common in bollywood films that once idol for many becomes a person of least interest to them, once followed by thousands get no one to follow on twitter. The same happened with the Former prime minister of the nation.
The person whose reforms are in history books of nation, reference of his work and models are in Harvard and his thoughtfulness was once used to scare the world is now being mocked as the silent spectator of a nation struggling in scams and is considered to be handled by President of Congress.

The game changer

This is a weird fact of Indian politics that the person who was always attacked for rising corruption issues was reelected. Dr Manmohan singh is one of the longest serving Prime Minister of India, he has served for 2 consecutive terms (2004 then 2009). However the image of the Indian politics seen tremendous downfall in these years and does erased all the good doing of the prime minister of 1991 reforms.

It was a mix of many scams, but it was highlighted by scams like much hyped 2G, Coal Gate, and Common wealth games ruined image of the nation globally and gave an opportunity to the opposition to make these as issues.

2G Spectrum:  An estimated 1.76 Lakh Crores of Loss due to government irregularities and lack of governance in the whole process, out of many politicians and business persons involved most famous is A Raja (Telecom Minister of that time)

Commonwealth Game Scam: Another fact of Indian politics is that the proposal says that for commonwealth games Delhi would be made with international standard architecture. Cost of scam due to irregularities: a Mere 70000 Crores.

Coal Scam: Coal is always an attractive source of power and income so for a nation full of irregularity it is easy to get some extra money. Lack of transparency is the key to a scam and this time it is just 1.85 lakh Crores.

Why Dr Singh is targeted?

Well it is a valid question, he may not be directly responsible but at the same time he did not do anything much to make sure these things do not occur again. And as a prime minister he never spoke much but kept on watching.
