Fish Aquarium


This beautiful aquarium is located in the neighborhood of Raj Bhavan. The fish aquarium area is Spread over one hectare.

Taj-ul-Masjid


Taj-ul-Masjid is known as ‘The Crown of Mosques’. This historical mosque was too used as a madrasah. Sultan Shah Jehan who was the Begum of Bhopal (1868-1901) initiates the construction of this world wide famous mosque. However, its construction finished after 1971 only from the efforts of Allama Mohammad Imran Khan Nadwi Azhari.

The Design of this monument features a pink frontage while on its top stands two 18 floor of octagonal minars along with marble domes. There are three enormous bulbous domes below the marble domes of mosque. Taj-ul-Masjid also has a major hallway among beautiful pillars as well as marble floorings. Furthermore, the mosque encloses a courtyard with a big tank in its central position.

The two storey gateway in the patio poses four concealed archways along with nine cuspidor multifold openings which lead to the central prayer hall. The Quibble wall which is inside the prayer lobby is decorated by eleven lower-level arch carvings along with finest screens of lattice work. The pillars take hold of 27 ceilings in which 16 are ornate petal led designs.



 

Van Vihar National Park;


Van Vihar is a National Park which is also loved by the tourists who enjoys wildlife photography. It is located at the heart of the Bhopal. Van Vihar is an oasis of vegetation extended across a region of 445 hectares.

Van Vihar houses a variety of flora and fauna. It provides shelter to orphan animals which are brought from all over Indian wildlife centuries and forests. That’s why it was confirmed as a national park in 1983. Since then it is designed in the form of modern zoological park. The backwoods of the zoo also recognized as a model for avian fauna.

Avian fauna comprises more than 200 species of famous birds that migrates in the park all through the winter season. The Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh maintains and administrates Van Vihar National Park.


Upper Lake


Upper Lake was formed in 11th century by Raja Bhoj. This beautiful lake is argued as the oldest artificial lake of India. Native people of Bhopal called this lake as ‘Bada Talaab’,
 This lake was known for curing the skin diseases of ancient king.

This lake is not enclosed from human settlements like lower lake however it has urban population in east and in west it has rural catchment.

Upper lake is the core for water activities of tourists and local people in Bhopal. The Beauty of upper lake is increase due to Kamla Park.



Moti Masjid


Moti Masjid also plays an important role in the tourism for city of lakes.
This mosque has an attractive shrine which glorifies the past of city of lakes and Begums of India. Moti masjid is universally called as a Pearl Mosque. This shrine was built in 1860 by Sikander Jehan who was a begum of India. Its architecture and design is similar to Jama Masjid of Delhi. The beautiful minarets are only used for calling prayer of the faithful followers of Islam.
