Medieval period of India saw some radical transformation. India in medieval period invaded by different foreign rulers and traders from the different part of the world and settled in the India. The different rulers and tradesmen brought their culture with them and combined with the people of India. In the medieval period, Central Asian and Arab people bought the Muslim educational system in the indie. After the death of Prophet Muhammad in 632 C.E., Arab mariners start to reside and trade in the south India. Other Central Asian and Turkic people raided the northern part of the India at 1000 C.E. Muslim rulers encouraged the urban education by making literary societies and libraries.
Muslim rulers also founded maktabs (primary schools) in which writing, reading and basic Islamic prayers are learned by students. In madrasas (secondary schools) is founded to teach the advance level of Quranic exegesis, language skills, sharia (Islamic law), Prophetic traditions and related subjects. Numerous madrasas were placed up nobles, sultans. The primary purpose of the establishment of madrasas is to educate and train the scholars who will become qualified for civil services and can perform the duties of the judge. Iltutmish was the first to establish a madarsa in Delhi in the medieval period of India.

Implementation of Muslim education in medieval India

The education system in India in the medieval period is under the control of the Ulama. Ulama was on the side of the curriculum as placed by the Akbar. In the medieval period, education was concerned with the religious training. In the medieval period, Arabic literature, medicines, philosophy and grammar were also taught by the ulama in the madrasas. According to the history of India, Central Asian and Arab people bought the Muslim educational system in the both modern and medieval periods. In the medieval period, women education was prevalent.

Muslim girls of wealthy family studied at home. In the medieval period, the Persian language was the court language. Best boys in medieval period could attend the school of Persia to learn history, literature, ethics, administration, and law. In the medieval period, education was grown by the Mughal emperors in their ruling period. Mughal ruler from 1526 to 1848 encourages the educational system. The Mughal ruler came to India to establish their rule. In the eleventh century, Muslims establish secondary schools and elementary schools for teaching the Islamic culture. This transformation leads to the beginning of the Muslim universities in various cities like lucknow, Delhi, and Allahabad.

Education was developed to establish with the new aspect in the medieval. In the medieval period, there is a good bond or interaction between the Islamic and Indian tradition. There is a good understanding in between the Islamic traditions and Indian traditions on the religion, philosophy, painting, fine arts, mathematics, architecture, medicine, astronomy, and theology. In the later era of medieval of India, British came to India and introduced the education of English literature. The education in the medieval period of India saw the massive growth.
