Dr Radhakrishnan was the first person who was the vice president of India and also he was the second president of the India. This leader has given much contribution in the field of education and for his contribution he was awarded by many prizes. 

Due to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan contribution to education the day of his birthday is celebrated as the teachers day all over the country on 5th September. This is done because the students of Radhakrishnan asked him to give the allowance to celebrate his birthday than he asked to all the students that this day should celebrate as the teacher’s day.

The Professional Life of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan


In the year of 1918, Dr. RadhaKrishnan was selected for the professor of the philosophy and the university was of Mysore. After the duration of three years, he was selected for the professor to the king George College of mental and the moral science this university was situated in the Calcutta. 

The big contribution for the Calcutta University was he represented the Calcutta University in international congress philosophy and it is held in Harvard University and in the September of the year 1926. In the year of 1929 he was appointed for the principle post in Manchester college, oxford. He was the one man who thinks that there should be a bridge between the religion of east and the west. In the year of 1939, he was also selected for fellow of the British academy. From the year 1939 to 48 he was the vice-chancellor of the Banaras Hindu University.

In the year of 1931 Dr. Radhakrishnan received the award of knighthood and the best prize he received was in the year 1954 and that was the Bharat ratna and in the year he awarded for the order of merit. He was also the ambassador of the India to U.S.S.R during the year of 1949-52. He was the member of the constituent assembly in India. He became the leader of Indian delegation to UNESCO during the year 1946-1952. He also held the office of chancellor. He became the vice-president of India and served the nation till May 1967 and he used the academic named title “doctor” in his whole life.

He wrote many books in his whole lifetime and some famous books are the Hindu view of life, religion society also he wrote a source book in the Indian philosophy and he was the finest writer in the Indian history.
